Over 3.5 score examples
The two teams can contribute the goals in any combination. Only the total matters.
- 2-2 = 4 goals, so Over 3.5 wins.
- 3-1 = 4 goals, so Over 3.5 wins.
- 4-0 = 4 goals, so Over 3.5 wins.
- 2-1 = 3 goals, so Over 3.5 loses.
- 1-1 = 2 goals, so Over 3.5 loses.
Higher lines need stronger evidence
A fixture can be a reasonable Over 2.5 candidate without being a strong Over 3.5 candidate. Requiring a fourth goal makes attacking quality, defensive vulnerability and game-state dynamics even more important.
Price and probability
Higher odds can look attractive, but the probability is lower. The useful question is whether the offered price is greater than the fair price implied by your own probability estimate.
Responsible betting
Football probabilities are estimates, not guarantees. Past results do not ensure future performance. Never stake money you cannot afford to lose and use licensed operators where gambling is legal for you.
